John Brewer went to Auburn when we graduated from Scottsboro High in 1962. He graduated from Auburn with an industrial management degree with a specialty in aviation management. After graduation, he served two years with the Air Force. All of his service time was spent in Idaho, where he learned to snow ski and enjoyed the northwestern wildlife (no pun intended).
The first job following the Air Force was in sales with a company that produced industrial lubricants. He lived in Chattanooga for a time and then was transferred to Memphis in 1978. He has lived in Memphis since that time. In 1981, he started his own company, named Air Energy Products. He acts as a manufacturer’s representative to sell and install air filtration systems to industries. He travels several southeastern states to cover the area he serves. John has no plans to retire, because he enjoys his work.
After many years of bachelorhood, John married Sandy two years ago. She was previously a nurse, but now is a realtor in the Memphis area. John and Sandy often consider moving back to Alabama because he can do his work from almost anywhere in the southeast, and he still owns his family property in Scottsboro.
The Brewers are active in Carnival Memphis, which sponsors fun activities for its members while raising money for charities. John loves boating on Guntersville Lake, snow skiing when possible, and he plays tennis weekly.
